Haaland brace inspires City to victory over Fulham
Manchester City took a significant step closer to a fourth successive Premier League title as Erling Haaland's brace inspired them to a 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday. The reigning champions moved back to the top of the table, a point ahead of Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
Gvardiol doubles up to put City in control
Josko Gvardiol gave City the lead in the 27th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box. The Croatian defender doubled the advantage just before the hour mark, heading in from a corner.
Haaland sealed the points in the 84th minute, tapping in from close range after Kevin De Bruyne's shot had been saved. Andreas Pereira pulled one back for Fulham in stoppage time, but it was too little, too late.
The victory was City's fifth in a row in all competitions and extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches. They now have a two-point lead over Arsenal with three games remaining.
