National Cat Day: Celebrate Our Feline Friends
A Day to Appreciate and Advocate for Cats
WEB National Cat Day is celebrated on October 29. It was created by Colleen Paige to bring awareness to the number of cats that need to be adopted. As pet parents, we might be surprised at how little space cats actually need. They love curling up in cosy corners and are quite adaptable to our living spaces.
International Cat Day
In the US and Canada, National Cat Day is an awareness day to raise public awareness of cat adoption. It takes place on August 8 in Canada and October 29 in the US. Effective since August 3, 2020, the leading cat welfare charity, International Cat Care, became the custodians of International Cat Day.
International Cat Day is also referred to as World Cat Day in some countries. However, it's not to be confused with National Cat Day, which is a separate event.
Conclusion
National Cat Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our feline friends and advocate for their well-being. By raising awareness about the importance of adoption and providing cats with the love and care they deserve, we can make a positive difference in their lives.
